A production line tolerates very little dimensional drift. If a mounting profile arrives two-tenths of a millimetre off the previous batch, jigs need resetting and assembly slows, which is why repeatability often outranks headline price in industrial procurement. Working with an Indonesia aluminum factory that extrudes from a fixed die library addresses that directly, because the same section number produces the same cross-section on every run. Aluminum brings its own advantages to the line as well: roughly one-third the weight of steel, a self-forming oxide layer that resists corrosion without galvanizing, and a single-step forming process that produces cavities and fins steel would need welding to achieve.
PT Exalum Metal Indo extrudes at its plant in Tangerang, Indonesia, supplying industrial and architectural buyers at home and abroad. The catalog of Exalummetal industrial aluminum products lists each profile by section number, with 6-metre standard lengths and cut-to-size options where a fabricator prefers finished pieces. Here are the six profiles that cover most of what a factory specifies.
1. Heatsink
Heatsink profiles manage thermal load in power electronics, LED housings, CPU cooling, and telecom equipment by exposing maximum fin area to airflow. Section 96007 runs a 1.00 mm wall at 0.277 kg per metre for compact assemblies, while section 96002 is substantially heavier at 1.20 mm wall, 1.021 kg per metre. Extrusion tolerances keep the mounting face flat, which matters because an uneven base leaves air gaps that undo the fin design. Geometry options appear on the Exalum product pages.
2. Flat Bar
Flat bar is what a fabrication shop reaches for first, cut into machine bases, mounting strips, and structural reinforcement. Section 10030 is 25 mm by 5 mm at 0.339 kg per metre, and section 10200 is a heavy 100 mm by 9 mm with a 1.00 mm radius, 2.436 kg per metre. Extruded bar leaves the die with square, finished faces, unlike sheared strip from sheet, which brings burrs and mechanical stress that have to be removed before machining.
3. Rectangular Hollow
Rectangular hollow section holds against torsional load where open profiles would twist, which suits machine guarding, partition systems, gates, and custom equipment frames. Section 45092 is 25.40 by 12.70 mm in a 0.90 mm wall at 0.180 kg per metre; section 45144 is far stronger at 40 by 20 mm in a 3.00 mm wall, 0.877 kg per metre. Both are extruded through a porthole die, so the box closes without a weld seam anywhere along the length.
4. Equal Angle
Equal angle stiffens corners and protects edges in rack framing, guarding, and panel assemblies. Section 20018 is a light 9.50 mm leg at 0.80 mm wall, 0.040 kg per metre, while section 20043 carries an 18 mm leg at 2.00 mm wall, 0.184 kg per metre. Coming from a single billet, the corner keeps a consistent grain structure instead of the work-hardened bend line that forming sheet metal leaves behind.
5. Unequal Channel
Unequal channel retains panel edges while guiding movement on one axis, used for sliding tracks, furniture capping, and light panel framing. Section 32042 measures 50.80 mm deep against a 12.70 mm web in a 0.90 mm wall, 0.182 kg per metre. The long flange gives fastener purchase on the concealed side while the short one keeps the exposed edge slim, a split that would otherwise take two separate folded parts.
6. Conveyor Profile
Conveyor profile, known as T-slot extrusion in North America, gives a factory a modular frame system fastened with T-nuts rather than welds. Section 70330 is a single-slot rail at 1.20 mm wall, 0.647 kg per metre, and section 70480 is a double-slot rail at 1.35 mm wall, 2.014 kg per metre, doubling fixing density on wider faces. Because nothing is welded, a workstation or roller track can be dismantled and rebuilt when the line changes.
Standard profiles remain the efficient route for factory supply: the dies exist, quotations skip tooling development, and dimensions stay stable across repeat orders. Selection depends on load direction, fabrication process, and required finish, which is worth settling at the design stage rather than at purchase.
Requesting a Quotation
Exalum Metal supplies aluminum extrusion profiles in production quantities from Indonesia to the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and other industrial markets. To request pricing, send your profile drawing or section number, required cut lengths, estimated order volume, and finishing specification such as anodizing or powder coating to [email protected] or WhatsApp +62 811 9429 970. Custom die development is available where a standard section will not serve.
