Identified as the Miami of South Korea, Busan is well-known for its shorelines and mountains. When the structure crew at Seoul-centered Make any difference Better Inside Structure Studio (mttb) approached their assignment for a beach front café in the city of Gijang-eup in the Busan Metropolitan Town region for a community brand Off.O, they knew the scenery had to be the most important attraction.

The composition housing the 589 sq.-metre (6,340 sq.ft) café on the weather conditions-crushed, rugged beach is tasteful in its small minimalist profile.

The café extends into three different properties. The central entrance house residences a bakery and a espresso bar. Angled on the two sides are two different seating parts, every single with amazing views of the seaside.

Minimalist black, white and pure slate hues dominate all 3 places with the bakery mainly slate-gray and a single of the seating regions just about wholly black with long tables and lower-hanging lights. The general elongated, minimal-slung style and design language draws the eye to the windows and to the rugged scenery outdoors.

The boxy form of the constructions and the rigid designs of the windows and long tables are softened by rounded details, this kind of as the hanging light-weight fixtures, chair backs and the edges of the decreased tables produced of bulky, dim slabs of wood.

With the dark minimalist interiors and the indoor pathways flanked by rock-stuffed “wells” there is a definite Japanese sensibility to the seating places. We like the drama established by letting the magnificent views dominate the rooms.

Matter Greater (mttb) was in charge of branding, principle structure, schematic design, doing work drawings and style and design supervision of this challenge.
