Swedes are still recovering from a magical Midsummer weekend of sunshine, floral crowns and revelry! I had an apartment lined up to show you now, but because the mercury is established to strike 30 c (86 f) in Scandinavia today, I imagined a summer season cottage by the sea could possibly be far more apt! This vintage black and white cabin in Tisvilde on Denmark’s North Zealand coastline, is owned by inside stylist and home furnishings manufacturer Ophilia Thalund. Ophilia has developed an ethereal, light filled interior in comfortable shades of white, blue, grey and brown. The sparsely adorned room capabilities objects collected above time together with flea industry finds as properly as items collected on travels – resulting in a private oasis in which to loosen up on balmy summer times!

A basic ‘trasmatta’ rag rug* – a mat made from scraps of apparel and other leftover textiles – allows to protect the ground in the kitchen area.

In Scandinavian cabins, all-natural components and simplicity principles the day!

A basic white butterfly chair can be conveniently transported exterior when the sunlight shines!

A wood bench doubles up as a side desk for espresso table guides and an antique bottle has been repurposed into a amazing lamp!

Ophilia frequently sits at this antique desk when she’s working up at the cabin.

Wood panel partitions and smooth gray-blue shades enable to link the cabin to its coastal place.

Attractive! I can think about on a working day like these days all the home windows and doors are thrown open and everyone is flitting concerning the sea and the backyard garden – once in a while popping within to gather a drink or slice of watermelon. Just like us!

Talking of summer months – the school vacations are in full swing and I will be dialling down to my summer months blogging schedule (submitting on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays) in purchase to expend time with my ladies – and consider to preserve the chaos at home at bay (cue: a path of destruction which includes coils of wet towels, a fast diminishing pantry and a outrageous quantity of eyeglasses in use at any one minute – does any person else recognise this?). Even so,  it’s my complete favourite time of the yr! I hope you are in a position to consider a small downtime and unwind much too.

If you are imagining about browsing Stockholm this summer season – why not keep in the wonderful archipelagos so you can merge the sea and quiet surroundings with the metropolis? This is a 20% code off for you if you continue to be at lodge Vår Gårds Saltsjöbaden for three evenings or additional between 1st – 31st July 2022: NIKISUMMER. I liked it so a great deal previous winter season I am having my complete loved ones there this July!

See you Wednesday!
